PCI-E x16 or x8 in an 8800 GTS 640 MB?

I've just installed 8800 GTS 640 MB Graphics card into my PC. I thought this card was PCI-E x16, but in the NVIDIA Control Panel, it says that the bus is x8. Is this correct, and is it working properly? Thanks.

The card is an x16 bus but your motherboard connector may only run at x8. If you have two pci x16 slots try the other one as this one will run at x16
